Team TGM will enter the Rolex 24 at Daytona, which will be run next month at Daytona International Speedway.
The American team has only been active in the Michelin Pilot Challenge, which they won in 2019, but wants to try running at an IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship round.
They will be working together with Wright Motorsports, who has plenty of experience with Porsche GTD cars, finishing second in the IMSA GTD championship in 2020.
Ted Giovanis, the man behind Ted Giovanis Motorsports, chose to put the 2020 programme on pause, and instead focus on working on COVID-19 vaccine and prevention. The team is ready to go back racing now.

Ted Giovanis will be joined by Matt Plumb, Hugh Plumb, and Owen Trinkler in the Porsche 911 GT3 R number 64. While Giovanis is a rookie in the race, the three others have a combined 21 starts in the 24 hours race.
The team will be easy to spot, with a simple livery, from the well-known livery designer Andy Blackmore. He is the man behind the very popular Spotterguides in both IMSA and at Le Mans, but has actually designed several of the cars in the IMSA series, and was previously a McLaren employee, having designed the colours on several of their Formula 1 cars and LeMans cars in the mid-’90s.
The team was out testing earlier this month and currently waits for the ROAR test in the middle of January to kick off.
They will only do the 24 hours race for now, in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
The Rolex 24 at Daytona will be run on 30-31 January 2021.
